πͺͺΒ Getting your Iqama
The Iqama is your residency permit (similar to Bahraini ID/CPR). You need this to apply for bank accounts, employment contracts, renting an apartment, etc. Once you have a border number and local mobile, head to the passports/jawazat office:
πΒ Apply for Iqama:
Bring: Original Passport with Border Number, Photocopy of Passport
Information Desk will direct you to the counter for new GCC Citizen Iqamas
Hand over documents and wait until the officer processes them
You will be called and given your Iqama number
π₯οΈΒ Activate your Iqama:
Find a self-service kiosk to activate your Iqama (there is one at the passport office, and multiple ones around the city)
Enter your Iqama and phone number, receive an OTP to complete setup
That's it! You now have an official Iqama/residency. To access this, you need to download the main government apps
β οΈ Once you get your Iqama, only enter/exit KSA with your passport only. If you use your CPR, the system will consider you not inside KSA. Residency is linked only to your passport.Β
π« As a GCC citizen, your Iqama will be accessible in digital format via the official government app, Absher. Physical Iqama cards are only available to non-GCC citizens (although exceptions can be made)
